Thank you for your interest in joining the Georgia Southern University Young Alumni Council.

With a vibrant network of over 162,000 alumni, and more than half being under the age of 40 years old, Georgia Southern University is a leading public research institution offering more than 140 academic majors across bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. The university serves approximately 27,560 students from all 50 states and over 80 countries, fostering a dynamic and inclusive community of learners and leaders.

As a member of the Young Alumni Council, you will help create meaningful opportunities for young alumni to stay connected to Georgia Southern, advance the university’s strategic goals, and positively impact current and future students. The Young Alumni Council plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Georgia Southern University by:

Strengthening connections between young alumni, students, and the university community.

  • Providing strategic guidance and innovative ideas for young alumni engagement.
  • Supporting university programs, events, and initiatives through leadership, volunteering, and philanthropy.
  • Promoting a culture of diversity, inclusion, and lifelong learning.
  • Serving as ambassadors of Georgia Southern, representing the values and mission of the university in communities across the globe.

Criteria for council members include the following:

  • Must be a Georgia Southern University, Armstrong State University or East Georgia State College graduate
  • Must be under the age of 40
