Markie Oge is a U.S. Army veteran, community leader, and dedicated public servant committed to creating positive change through leadership, service, and collaboration. During military service as an Information Technology Specialist (25B), Markie developed the discipline, resilience, adaptability, and teamwork that continue to guide both a professional career and community involvement.
Markie earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Georgia Southern University, with an emphasis in Human Resources. This education provided a strong foundation in organizational leadership, talent development, employee relations, communication, and strategic management. These skills continue to shape Markie’s approach to leadership by fostering collaborative teams, developing meaningful partnerships, and creating environments where individuals feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.
Markie currently serves as a Juvenile Probation/Parole Specialist II with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, partnering with youth, families, schools, courts, law enforcement, and community organizations to promote rehabilitation, accountability, and positive outcomes. Markie is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential while building partnerships that strengthen the communities served.
Beyond the professional career, Markie is the Co-Founder, Board Member, and Board Secretary of Women Veterans of the Coastal Empire, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and supporting women veterans throughout Coastal Georgia. Markie helped lead the organization in achieving 501(c)(3) status and continues to support its governance, strategic growth, community partnerships, and outreach initiatives.
Markie also founded the Bradwell Institute Key Club, creating opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, embrace volunteerism, and become engaged civic leaders. In addition, Markie serves as a mentor with Shelter From the Rain, supporting and encouraging women as they work toward achieving their personal and professional goals.
Committed to lifelong learning, Markie has been selected to participate in several competitive leadership development programs, including GeorgiaForward Young GameChangers, the Georgia Municipal Association Young GameChangers Cohort, the United Way of the Coastal Empire Board Readiness Program, and V-WISE (Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship). These experiences have strengthened Markie’s knowledge of nonprofit governance, economic development, strategic leadership, and community collaboration while expanding a network of leaders across Georgia.
Above all, Markie is a proud mother of three amazing children—Colton, Connor, and Cali—who inspire Markie every day to lead with integrity, serve with purpose, and create opportunities that positively impact future generations. Markie’s goal is to continue empowering others, strengthening communities, and making a lasting difference through servant leadership and collaboration.
