Brandon Long currently serves as an Academic Advisor I in the Center for Advising, Retention & Completion at Georgia Southern University Statesboro Campus, where he advises students in Construction Management and Electrical Engineering . Since beginning his journey in higher education as an undergraduate in 2017, and entering the field professionally in 2022, he has developed a deep commitment to supporting student success through personalized advising, strategic planning, and a collaborative, student‑centered approach.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership—on track to become a proud Triple Eagle. Alongside his academic training, Brandon brings a strong foundation of professional skills that include effective communication, problem‑solving, teamwork, adaptability, and technical proficiency. These strengths help him provide comprehensive support to students while contributing meaningfully to institutional goals.
In 2021, Brandon was honored as Graduate Staff Member of the Year, a recognition that reflects his passion and dedication to the student experience. Since committing to a long‑term career in advising, he remains an active member of NACADA: The National Association for Academic Advising, engaging regularly with best practices and professional development opportunities. As he works toward completing his Ed.D., Brandon continues to expand his leadership capacity and remains focused on making a lasting impact within higher education.
