Brett Kohler is currently a Planner II with the Bryan County Community Development Department. In this role, he reviews permit and site development plans for new construction in unincorporated Bryan County. Since joining the department, Kohler has earned his Certified Floodplain Manager credential. He is a “Double Eagle” graduate of Georgia Southern University, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2020, and his Masters of Public Administration in 2023. Prior to joining Bryan County in 2022, Kohler worked for the Office of
External Affairs at Georgia Southern University. As a student at Georgia Southern, he was actively involved on campus serving in Student Government for 3 years and working as a student assistant for the Office of the Vice President of Finance. Brett is an Eagle Scout who graduated from Bryan County High School in 2017 and is a recent 2025 graduate of the Leadership Bryan program.
