Hailing from the beautiful island nation of Sri Lanka, Dylan John grew up in Construction with his father and mother who owned and operated a mid-size General Contracting company in Sri Lanka.

In 2011, Dylan came to the United States to pursue his higher studies in Construction Management as a Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP) scholar. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in construction at Georgia Southern, while serving as the student body President from 2016-2018.

Dylan joined the U.S Construction industry in 2018. Today, Dylan John is a Project Manager with Rycon Construction in Atlanta Georgia, and the Co-Chair of the Construction Technology Work Group for the company. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. Serving in these 2 roles, Dylan is uniquely positioned in both industry and academia.

In his industry role, he is often referred to as a Technology forward Project Manager. He leads his project teams in the use/trial of different technology assets and endeavors to improve the use of technology on construction projects through pursuing a “Return On Implementation”.

As an academic, Dylan provides his students with the opportunity to learn and interact with the changing landscape of Construction Technology. He takes pride in being close to the frontline, of training and developing our future construction professionals with a Technology Forward mindset.
