Kimmy Smith is an Alumni Relations Coordinator at Georgia Southern University, where she leads student and young alumni engagement efforts for the Office of Alumni Relations. In this role, she develops and implements strategies that foster lifelong connections between the university and its newest generations of alumni. She plays a key role in cultivating a culture of involvement, tradition, and philanthropy among current students and recent graduates.

A proud Double Eagle, Kimmy holds both a B.S. in Public Relations with minors in Communication Studies and Multimedia Journalism and an MBA from Georgia Southern University. She is also a graduate of the Honors College and Southern Leaders Program. During her time as a student, Kimmy held numerous leadership roles, including Southern Ambassador, SOAR Leader and SGA Senator. Her undergraduate and graduate experiences laid the foundation for a career grounded in servant leadership, student development, and strategic communication.

Beyond her role in higher education, Kimmy brings experience in public relations, crisis response and prevention, and customer service through past positions with the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority, Georgia Southern’s Dean of Students Office, and Kate Spade New York. Passionate about community service and all things animals, she volunteers as a co-team leader at the Savannah Wildlife Rescue Center, where she helps care for raccoons, possums, squirrels, and 15 other baby mammal species and helps out at her family farm.

Kimmy’s unique blend of communication expertise, leadership, and compassion fuels her mission to serve others and create meaningful connections wherever she goes.
