Professional & Personal Development
Partnering with the Office for Career & Professional Development, the SAA connects members in the Eagle Mentoring Program with Georgia Southern’s diverse alumni network to focus on:

Monthly Luncheon Series
The SAA hosts a monthly luncheon series on the Statesboro, and Armstrong Campuses to engage members with professional workshops, social activities, and special presentations with Georgia Southern’s alumni network.
40 under 40
SAA members will be invited to participate in 40-Under-40, an annual event recognizing 40 distinguished alumni under age 40 for their professional, and philanthropic achievements. Participating in 40-Under-40 enables SAA members to build their network among successful alumni.
1906 Society
SAA members will be invited to participate in the 1906 Society, an annual event recognizing Georgia Southern supporters, and donors for their philanthropic generosity to the university. Participating in the 1906 Society enables SAA members to engage with GSU supporters, and experience first-hand donor society benefits.
Campus Partnerships
SAA members will be encouraged to participate in annual programming across several campus-wide partners including the Student Government Association, Office for Student Activities, University Athletics, and more to host events, engage with students, and enhance the overall student experience as Georgia Southern’s future alumni.
A Philanthropic Mindset
Investing in Philanthropy – The SAA supports philanthropic initiatives where students support growth, success, and connection among Georgia Southern University.
- Eagles 4 Eagles – In partnership with the Student Government Association, the SAA supports fundraising for the Eagles 4 Eagles initiative which supports students experiencing extreme financial hardships.
- Senior Class Giving Campaign – In partnership with the Office for Annual Giving, the SAA promotes an annual Senior Class Giving Challenge contributed by upcoming graduates to support future alumni.
- Student Eagle Club – In partnership with Georgia Southern’s Athletic Foundation, the SAA promotes members to express their athletic support by joining the Student Eagle Club as a student-level giving society supporting the Erk Russell Fund which provides athletic scholarships, improves athletic facilities, and enhances staffing services.

Student Alumni Council
The Student Alumni Council (SAC) is passionate about fostering relationships, and creating opportunities by connecting students with the Georgia Southern Alumni Association. The SAC welcomes twenty students from across the university to facilitate student programming, make professional connections, promote philanthropy, and establish lifelong friendships.

Council Committees
- Administration Committee – is focused on organizational structure, constitutional governance, internal affairs, and philanthropic initiatives of the Student Alumni Council.
- Membership Committee – is focused on new member recruitment, membership engagement, and the overall membership experience of the Student Alumni Association.
- Marketing Committee – is focused on implementing the marketing, awareness, and promotional initiatives of the Student Alumni Association.
- Programming Committee – is focused on program planning, event management, and member engagement for the Student Alumni Association.
