Virginia Candace Josey is the founder of Virginia Josey Law in Macon, Georgia, where she focuses her practice on representing individuals in personal injury and civil litigation matters. She also serves as an adjunct professor of Advanced Litigation Drafting at Mercer University School of Law, helping prepare the next generation of trial attorneys.
A graduate of Mercer University School of Law, Josey earned her Juris Doctor in 2016 and received numerous honors, including the James C. Estes Moot Court Award and membership in The Order of Barristers. During law school, she served as Chief Justice of the Honor Court and President of the Advocacy Council. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Georgia Southern University.
Before founding her firm in 2022, Josey served as a staff attorney to the Honorable Howard Z. Simms, an assistant district attorney for the Oconee Judicial Circuit, and practiced with several respected Georgia law firms. She has been admitted to practice in all Georgia state courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia.
An active leader in the legal profession and her community, Josey currently serves as the 80th President of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. She is also a member of the Executive Board of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, a graduate of Leadership Macon, and has held numerous leadership roles with the Macon Young Lawyers Division, the Middle Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, and the Georgia Southern Alumni Association. In 2026, she was honored as Mercer Law’s Young Alumna of the Year in recognition of her professional achievements and service to the legal community.
