LTC Joe Quenga

Deputy Director, Force Mgmt Advisor to the Surgeon General, US Army

U.S. Army LTC Joe Quenga (2009) is a Georgia Southern University 40 Under 40 Alumni Class of 2021 award recipient and volunteer with the university alumni association’s military network and National Capital region. Quenga is working on his gift giving initiative to establish an endowment scholarship for military connected Eagle students in the Parker School of Business. Currently, Quenga serves as the Force Management Officer for the U.S. Army Medical Command and Office of the Surgeon General in Washington, D.C.

In his last two assignments, Quenga served as a Force Structure Programs Officer in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans, Operations, and Strategy on the Army Staff in the Pentagon, and as the Executive Officer to the Commanding General of the Defense Logistics Agency for Energy. He has served at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels and in some of the Army’s most decorated and storied units, such as the 82nd Airborne Division and 2nd Infantry Division. Quenga holds a master’s in transportation policy and logistics from George Mason University, graduate certificate in process improvement from Villanova University, and bachelor’s in business logistics from Georgia Southern University’s Parker School of Business. 

He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Highlights of Quenga’s military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense and Army Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medal, Joint and Army Achievement Medals, Army Staff Badge, Defense Logistics Agency Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Order of the Saint Barber. Quenga also serves in other volunteer roles as the chapter advisor of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at The George Washington University and a military mentor with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (T.A.P.S.). He enjoys traveling, working out, ballroom dancing, and perfecting various specialty coffee brewing techniques. Quenga currently resides in Arlington, Virginia with his wife Vanessa.
