Dr. LaToya Stackhouse, a native of Thomaston, Georgia, has worked in education for twenty years. Her passion is working with students and assisting them in the transition into college. She holds a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum Studies as well as a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University.
She also attained a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia Southwestern State University. Dr. Stackhouse began her postsecondary education at Georgia Southern University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. Her experience in Higher Education began in Intercollegiate Athletics and has spanned over several areas of Student Affairs such as Admissions, Federal TRIO programs and academic advising.
Her recent experiences have provided her the opportunity to work with Residence Life, Student Activities, Greek Life, Recreation and Wellness as well as Student Leadership. She also has experience at the K12 level as a middle grades educator and coach. Currently, Dr. Stackhouse is the Dean of Students at Gordon State College. Prior to this role, she was the Director of Student Affairs at Florida State University-Panama City (FSUPC).
