Alumnus Zachary Vincent (’21) had never thought about the Peace Corps being a possibility for him after college. After meeting with a recruiter at one of the career fairs, he knew he wanted to volunteer after graduation.
His recent work has taken him to the Eastern Region of Ghana, where he is serving as a Sustainable Agriculture Volunteer. Since arriving, Zachary has helped the school establish a garden where fruits and vegetables are grown. He has also started teaching at the school.
Zachary says he wouldn’t be here without the support from his professors, especially Dr. Christopher Brown.
“My time in Statesboro really shaped me to want to help others and hope it does the same for others. Go Eagles and Hail Southern!”
