How Georgia Southern Alumnus Kevin Remillard Found Healing on the Appalachian Trail

Hiking the Appalachian Trail is no small feat, as alumnus Kevin Remillard (’10) knows.

Although the journey was 2,197 miles, he says the trail changed his life. “The trail changed my life and really saved my life…There’s a saying out there that the trail provides, and it certainly did so for me.”

Along the thru-hike, Kevin learned important lessons about finding balance with work, family and the benefits of getting outside. He was recently featured on an award-winning podcast, where he shares about his struggles and how hiking provided some perspective for him.

Kevin graduated in 2010 with a BBA in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation. He hiked the entirety of the trail in his favorite Georgia Southern hat.
