Southern Women

Empowering Women at Georgia Southern

Your time at Georgia Southern was more than just earning a degree; it was about discovering yourself, forging lifelong friendships and finding your place in the world. The Southern Women Network is a continuation of that journey, providing a welcoming and supportive community where alumnae can connect, grow and thrive.

From networking opportunities to mentorship initiatives, our aim is to foster personal and professional development to create a powerful network of women who are making a difference at Georgia Southern, in their communities and beyond.

Southern Women Leadership Institute

The Southern Women program also supports our students by hosting a two day conference, The Southern Women Leadership Institute for junior and senior students where they have the opportunity to learn from and network with prominent alumnae. During this conference, the Southern Women scholarship is awarded to students who attend the conference and have demonstrated the characteristics of leadership within the campus community and aspire to be leaders after graduation.

How to Get Involved

Southern Women groups have formed across the country. If you are interested in volunteering for one of our current groups, or starting one of your own, please contact Janis Pickens in the Alumni office at jpickens@georgiasouthern.edu
