Criteria: The applicant must be the son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter or legal dependant of a graduate of Georgia Southern (or any of the school’s previous names). Must be a senior enrolled full time at the time the award is given and must have spent his/her entire junior year at GSU. Academic record, demonstrated talents, personal character, relevant extra-curricular activities an d motivating interests will be considered.

Laurens County (Middle GA) Alumni Scholarship
Criteria: Applicant must be a legal resident of Laurens County and a graduate of any high school in Laurens County. Student must be enrolled full time and must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
2008-2009 $1,350.00
Glynn County Alumni Scholarship
Criteria: Applicant must a legal resident of Glynn County and a graduate of any high school in Glynn County. Students must be enrolled full time at the time they receive the scholarship and remain full time enrollment throughout the award period. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must maintain grades of the minimum or higher throughout the award period.
2008-2009 $700.00
Atlanta Alumni Scholarship
Criteria: Applicant must have a permanent residential address that is located in one of the following Atlanta area counties: Cobb, Dekalb, Fulton, Gwinnett or Rockdale. Students must be seniors or rising seniors at the time the scholarship is awarded and must have at least two full academic semesters remaining before graduating. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and may be pursuing any major.

Captain Bill Winn Alumni Scholarship
Criteria: The applicant must be the son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter or legal dependant of a graduate of Georgia Southern (or any of the school’s previous names). Must be a senior enrolled full time at the time the award is given and must have spent his/her entire junior year at GSU. Academic record, demonstrated talents, personal character, relevant extra-curricular activities and motivating interests will be considered.

Betty Treadway Cummins Alumni Scholarship
Criteria: Applicants must be senior nursing students who have demonstrated financial need.

Tom Batey, Jr. Alumni Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: The scholarship shall be offered to a graduating high school senior from Laurens County High School who has been accepted into an academic program at GSU. The student must demonstrate leadership skills among his or her peers. Financial need should be a deciding factor.
